The Lab process
As the Konsuta’m model was designed collaboratively by professionals, mental health community services, and other stakeholders, different strategies were developed at each moment that resulted in the Konsulta'm lab. Starting with face-to-face and virtual meetings with community stakeholders to detect and work together, involving them later in a virtual community of practice to enhance collaboration among members, share ideas, and debate.
With this one-time shared learning experience, a dynamic was established that evolved through a “Learning and Innovation Laboratory” and its characteristics regarding flexibility, participation, the creation of new learning frameworks, and the joint response to new demands.
Nowadays, the Lab is a third strategy in this evolution to maintain a continuous learning environment, to address main youth problems and challenges. The aims at:
- Developing a new professional competency framework and skillsets needed by front-line staff working with the user group.
- Sharing emerging ideas and experimental work to generate effective future practices.
- Continue working on youth needs, and improving the collaborative approach: sharing knowledge, and focusing on further research for integrated and holistic community-based services.
Methods implemented:
- Every session there is one or two topics to approach through activities such as case studies, guided discussions, learning sessions, and minutes summarizing and sharing the main points and lessons learned.
- Products: Documents resulting from a discussion, consensus, agreement or learning experience.
