Introduction of the participants in the LINK project, Slovenia

M.Sc. Valerija Ilešič Toš, B.Sc. soc. worker is the head of Lab in Slovenia. She has several decades of experience working with families at the social work center (SWC), where she has held managerial positions in recent years, starting in March 2024 as the director of the SWC Spodnje Podravje. She also participated in the international project LIFE.

 

 

Nina Mešl, PhD, social worker, an associate professor and researcher at Faculty of Social Work, University of Ljubljana. Leader of the Slovenian team, collaboration with regional partners, development of The Learning and Innovation Lab, implementation of developed knowledge about working with families facing multiple challenges and further development of knowledge with professionals from different fields, education and support for professionals.

She is an experiential gestalt family psychotherapist. Prior to her employment at the Faculty, she did practical work in the field of social work with children and families. Her areas of research and development include social work with families, theories of help in social work, and trauma. In recent years, she has researched and published on uses of theory in practice, approaches to developing and using knowledge, and social work with families facing multiple challenges. She has participated in different scientific research projects in various fields (e.g. Erasmus+ LIFE (Learning to Innovate with Families) project &ldquoHelping Families in the Community: The Co-creation of Desired Changes for Reducing Social Exclusion and Strengthening Health&rdquo project EurofamNet: The European Family Support Network). She presented her research at several domestic and foreign conferences and congresses, in scientific and professional journals and scientific monographs (e.g. MEŠL, Nina (2018). Liljana Rihter is an associate professor and researcher at the Faculty of Social Work, University of Ljubljana. Her role in the project is to plan and conduct the evaluation of all activities, focusing on the identification of supporting elements and barriers. She also participates in building a network of different local/regional organisations that could support the work process, as well as national bodies responsible for implementing innovations in the social protection system.

She is a teacher of methodology of research in social work. Her research work includes: methods and models of evaluation of social protection programmes and services, vulnerable groups, dementia, working poor, needs assessment and poverty. She has been a member of various groups at the national level in the field of social protection. She has been a member of the International Consortium for Social Development since 2004 and a board member of the European Branch since 2009.

Tadeja Kodele, PhD, social worker, an assistant professor and researcher at Faculty of Social Work, University of Ljubljana. She collaborates with regional partners and is developing the Learning and Innovation Lab, implementing developed knowledge about working with families facing multiple challenges and further develops the knowledge with professionals from different fields, education and support for professionals.

She completed a two-year education from experiential gestalt family therapy. Her research interests mainly cover social work with families, children participation and practice teaching in social work. She has participated in many scientific research projects in various fields (e.g. Erasmus+ LIFE (Learning to Innovate with Families) project &ldquoHelping Families in the Community: The Co-creation of Desired Changes for Reducing Social Exclusion and Strengthening Health&rdquo project EurofamNet: The European Family Support Network).

 

Tamara Rape Žiberna, PhD, social worker with a master's degree in management of non-profit organisations. She is developing and supporting (within The Learning and Innovation Lab) the model of teamwork at SWC (and with other institutions) for professionals working with families facing multiple challenges, to implement the developed knowledge about teamwork and further develop the needed knowledge for teamwork in this field of work.

She is a teaching assistant and researcher at the Faculty of Social Work, University of Ljubljana. Her research interests are mainly related to social work teamwork, social work research and social work practice education. Her bibliography is available on this link

Mojca Suhovršnik has a Master's Degree in Sociology of Culture and a Master's Degree in Educational Studies. She is a researcher at Faculty of Social Work and a PhD student at Faculty of Arts University of Ljubljana. Her research fields are violence against women and children, sexual violence and harrasment among youth and gender studies. She also collaborates with SOS Helpline for women and children – victims of violence.

Nika Petek, M.Sc. prof. soc. ped. is a social pedagogue, employed at the SWC of Spodnje Podravje, Ptuj unit. The areas of her work are: treatment of children and adolescents with problems growing up, treatment of minors in criminal and misdemeanor proceedings, - implementation of educational measures according to the Criminal Code, personal help to young people and implementation of the social welfare service Help for the family for the home.

Teja Sok, M.Sc. soc. work., employed at the SWC of Spodnje Podravje, Unit Ptuj and works in the following areas: First social assistance for children and young people, foster care, adoptions.

Melita Emeršič is a social worker with a university degree, employed for 15 years at the SWC of Spodnje Podravje, unit Ptuj. For 10 years, she worked in the field of special care for children and adolescents and carried out tasks for the protection of children and adolescents. The last five years she is working with families, she co-creates the desired outcomes within the framework of the social welfare service family assistance for the home. Within the framework of public powers, he cooperates with children and adolescents with signs of problems growing up and with their families.

Mojca Gojkošek works at the SWC Spodnje Podravje, Unit Ptuj. She is a social worker and her areas of work are foster care, adoptions and first social assistance for children and adolescents. 

Nataša Škafar, B.Sc. soc. worker, graduated from the Faculty of Social Work UL in 2004. She has been employed at the Social Work Center of Spodnje Podravje, Unit Ptuj for 16 years. In her work, she encounters families with many challenges and got to know different areas of work (material risk, work with foster families, relations between parents and children). She is currently working in the area of measures to protect the interests of the child. She is certified as a mediator in family disputes. 

Nataša Divjak, psychologist, employed at the SWC of Spodnje Podravje, Unit Ormož. Her work includes: personal assistance to adults and adolescents in need; work with children and adolescents with growing up problems; work with children and young people with criminal acts; cooperation in the field of fostering and adoption and conducting supervised contact. 

Renata Kozel, has masters in social work. She is employed at the SWC of Spodnje Podravje, Ptuj unit. Her field of work is the social welfare service Help for the family for a home and the treatment of children and adolescents with growing up problems. She is also the head of the Lay Help for Families program. 

Maja Korošec , MA and soc. work. She is employed at SWC Spodnje Podravje. Her field of work is Special care of children and adolescents.
